The difference between services marketing and product marketing While companies use both services marketing and product marketing to acquire new customers, services marketing is different from product marketing. Some key differences include: 1- Tangible products versus intangible services Marketing tangible products is easier than marketing intangible services because marketers can easily display them and explain how they work. It is also easier for customers to assign value to physical items. While marketers focus on marketing service providers and building relationships with potential customers. This helps build trust and generate sales. 2- Customization Unlike products that are often designed one way and sold to customers as is, companies can customize their services to meet each customer's unique needs.


Example: A company that provides digital marketing services customizes systems to fit each client's needs. Your services marketing strategy can highlight this by focusing on how you can adapt a service to best suit a wide range of different customers. 3- Ownership phone number database When customers buy a product, they own it. This means continuing to use the product as long as they see fit and reselling it when they wish. When a customer purchases a service, the company still retains the employees who provided the service. While product marketing focuses on why a customer wants to own an item, service marketing focuses on building the brand and service providers. 4- Trust While customers who are dissatisfied with a product can return it, customers who are dissatisfied with a service cannot return it after using it. This is why service marketing places great emphasis on building trust with customers and continuing to provide excellent service in every interaction with the public.

   


Service-based businesses also want to ensure that their customers are satisfied so that they will continue to buy services from them. 5- Time Usually, companies provide services to customers at a specific time or for a specific duration. After that, customers must renew the service agreement to continue receiving it. However, a customer may purchase a product once and continue to use it indefinitely. For this reason, services marketing typically focuses on selling subscriptions and customer retention rather than selling a product to customers all at once. 6- Market size The market size of service-based companies may be smaller than the market size of product-based companies. This is because most companies can ship products to customers globally, while many companies only provide services to a specific geographic area.
